Frontline Reminder - 22nd August 2010
Yesterday we spoke to the children about Proverbs 22v1"Choose a good reputation over great riches; being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold" and we asked what kind of reputation Jesus had?
We spoke to the adults from Acts 10:38 and saw Jesus as the One who went around "doing good", and said that this is a reason for living. Are we like Jesus in this?
Also, during the service we heard from Matt Neal and how the Lord has called him to train to be a pastor-teacher. Did you manage to pick up a newsletter about this from the Welcome Desk? Matt starts on our 28:19 training scheme in September.
In the evening Dave taught us from Haggai to (1) give careful thought to our ways (2) be strong and courageous (3) live a holy life (4) remember we are chosen.
Also in the evening Barbara drew our attention to the need of the church in Pakistan.
Finally did you know you can now follow our church website on twitter? Simply go to the twitter site and search @hooknews or @hooksermons.
Well, life on the frontline is upon us - may the Lord strengthen you by grace and direct your hearts into the love of Christ this week.
