The Genesis Project
Preparing for Service
The basic, course which takes place on a Saturday morning, is ideal for Christians who wish to equip themselves for service, but who are restricted in the amount of time they can invest.
The Genesis project began in 1992 with twenty-six students; all but two of these enrolled for the second year and were joined by eleven new students. Up to the year 2003, nearly 200 students had enrolled and one hundred and sixty-two had completed the full two year course.
From September 2003, the course was changed to a one year course, because of the heavy demands on people’s time. This is a non-examination course, though students attending 87% (86 mornings) of the year’s course are awarded a certificate. Students are encouraged to take up the option of doing the diploma to enhance the value of The Genesis Project course. This diploma is awarded to the students who satisfactorily complete the three written course assignments, which are set each year.
It has been very encouraging to the staff of Genesis to see over 90% of the student, doing the diploma course and almost 100% successfully completing all of their assignments, and gaining their Diploma, since the one year course commenced.
