The Genesis Project
Training Christians for Service – in pursuit of excellence
Introduction
The Genesis Project provides Christians with unique way of deepening their understanding of biblical truths, covering a wide range of subjects from essential doctrine to contemporary issues.
The Genesis Project has been running for over sixteen years, and in that time, two hundred and ninety students have successfully completed the course. Many of them are now in Christian leadership in their local church and some in full- time ministry.
Many active members of our churches are eager to obtain a deeper level of training and instruction than is possible through normal church life and ministry. However, family or work commitments, together with the high financial cost, may preclude a full-time college course. The Genesis course is a significant response to this need by providing in-depth instruction from teachers who are fully involved in local church leadership and ministry. The flexible approach and low costs means that The Genesis Project is accessible to all.
Our purpose is to equip men and women from evangelical churches for Christian service. We aim to enlarge their understanding of contemporary issues, sharpen their minds and deepen their appreciation of the relevance of scripture. The course includes an overview of the Bible and how each book fits into the great theme of God’s revelation, a presentation of essential Christian doctrines within the framework of the Bible itself, an introduction to interpreting the Bible carefully and wisely, a biblical perspective on urgent contemporary issues of theology, morality and ethics and an outline of the Story of the Church over two thousands years.
The Genesis Project is a one year course consisting of three ten week terms. It is held on Saturday mornings, from 9-00 a.m. to 12-30 p.m. Within this time there are three lectures/or discussion periods, with two short breaks. Students enrolling for the course are expected to devote up to one and a half hours each week to selected reading.
